Biography & Qualifications

I am a Consultant Urological Surgeon working in several London hospitals and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at King's College London.

My postgraduate training in adult and paediatric urology was mainly in London, at Great Ormond Street Hospital, The Royal Free Hospital, Whipps Cross University Hospital, North Middlesex University Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital, Bart's and The Royal London Hospital, and also at Birmingham Children's Hospital. I am the Clinical Director for Urology Service at Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Trust.

My practice covers female urinary health problems including recurrent urinary tract infection, overactive bladder, painful bladder syndrome and urinary incontinence, and men's health problems including benign and malignant prostatic disease, prostatitis, erectile dysfunction and scrotal and foreskin problems.

I have an MSc in Urology from University College London and have published more than 50 papers, particularly in minimally invasive treatment for prostatic hyperplasia, recurrent urinary tract infections and female urology. I have a special interest in medical education and mentorship, holding a Diploma and MSc in Medical Education from University College London, and have been a Fellow of The Higher Education Academy since 2012.

Qualifications include Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS Urol), Fellowship of the European Board of Urology (FEBU), an MSc in Urology from University College London, and an MD from the Faculty of Medicine, Aleppo University, Syria.

I am a member of The Worshipful Society of Apothecaries of London, a Livery Company of the City of London with a Royal Charter dating from 1617 and a medical licensing body since 1815, having been admitted to the Freedom of the Society in 2011 and elected Liveryman in 2015.

I have volunteered with Urolink, part of the British Association of Urological Surgeons, providing urological care and teaching to patients and trainee doctors at the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital in Banjul, The Gambia.
